Hebrides Ensemble are returning to Edinburgh Festival on 20th August for a typically fascinating programme (thanks to our Artistic Director), built around Schoenberg’s arrangement of Mahler’s Songs of a Wayfarer (with Christopher Maltman) and featuring other Second Viennese School arrangements. The Piano Duo will be making two appearances at the Proms on 9th August, as part of the “Multiple Pianos Day” (concerts 32&33), one of the highlights of this year’s festival. We will be presenting the world premiere of a specially commissioned brand new Two Piano Concerto by Anna Meredith, and in the following concert we will join Colin Currie and Sam Walton for a performance of Bártok’s Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion.
