"Moore and Janiczek combine transcendent intensity with finely judged pacing in Messiaen's Theme and Variations, placing this firmly among the best accounts on disc."

Concerts

Piano Phase

Although I’ve played a lot of Steve’s music, this will be the first “phasing”. Great to have new challenges and really looking forward to attempting to master this technique! Concert at King’s Place, 13th June 2020

London Sinfonietta

Thrilled to be joining Sinfonietta again in the autumn for a programme which includes the extraordinary sound-world which is Hans Abrahamsen’s Schnee, a canonic masterpiece! Concert at Esplanade, Singapore, 2 November 2019.

Petrushka

I know Petrushka well, having played the orchestral piano part, and from Stravinsky’s four-hand arrangement. This incredibly virtuosic version however, by Victor Babin, specifically for two pianos and fleshed out accordingly, is new to us. Alongside it, Simon and I will play Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances, surely one of his greatest scores? Concert at LSO St. Lukes, 17th April 2020

Lammermuir 2019

Returning to Lammermuir in September for a hugely enjoyable programme. Janacek, Dvorak (so much Bohemian music around this year!) and Bridge at his most charming. Concert in Haddington, 16th September

New piece for Piano and Percussionist by Steve Reich

Simon and I will have the amazing opportunity to premiere a new Steve Reich work for piano and percussion, with Colin Currie and Sam Walton, in Autumn 2014, at the Southbank and worldwide.
Ahead of this, we will be part of the Colin Currie Group at the Royal Festival Hall this November.
